Santa Monica Shul

What is a Shul?

Jews of Ashkenazi decent have traditionally used the Yiddish term “Shul” (cognate with the German “Schule,” school) in everyday speech. The Chabad Santa Monica Shul started on Montana Avenue and is now located in the heart of the City of Santa Monica, on Wilshire Blvd just blocks away from the beach.

Living Torah Center – Chabad of Santa Monica serves the Jewish community from its current center with a Synagogue, Judaica Gift Shop, acclaimed Preschool, Hebrew School and other programs, including Adult Education, Women’s Torah Study, lifecycle officiation, hospital chaplaincy and social and humanitarian outreach programs.
